Excited for the road ahead
What a whirlwind few months it’s been at Sociability HQ!
Since July, time has absolutely whirred by as we’ve had moved through the rigour of product development & testing, into the excitement of launching a brand-new product and now finding ourselves in the comparative calm of strategic planning for the months ahead.
Last month, we were excited and proud to show the world what we’ve been working on. Little more than a year ago, we launched our prototype as a scrappy team of two (we miss you, Emma! ❤️) trying to cobble together sufficient funds & momentum to bring an unconventional idea to life.
14 months later, 3 team members and a lot of sleepless nights later — we were proud to launch our first fully-functional product. Monday 31 August was a big day for us. Not only were we excited to show the world what we’ve been working on, but we were ready to shift from living in the future to the now. For months, we’ve been focused on the possibilities when Sociability exists — planning, preparing, promising. Now, it is time to turn those plans into a reality. The real work begins!
And so, as we roll into a new month — October 2020 signals an exciting time for Sociability and our community. With one month of live operation under our belt, we’re confident that our platform — on mobile & web — works. It can help disabled people to quickly find, add and share detailed accessibility information for local places. There’s still plenty to improve and we have oh so many wonderful ideas for how to make Sociability the most helpful & empowering tool it can be, but we’re on our way!
Now, the long journey to a more Sociable world is underway. We’ve been busy listening to early feedback, ironing out bugs as fast as we can and setting the stage for some really exciting growth over the coming weeks and months. We’re excited to share our plans and some exciting new initiatives with you this month — including a really cool partnership with a major transport service provider and some nifty features that we think you’ll love.
We’re thinking about ways to grow our user base, our venue coverage and our impact. These three themes are front-and-centre and top-of-mind right now and we’re keen to share our roadmap in the coming weeks!
Stay tuned and let us know what you think. It’s been fantastic to read all the feedback since launch and so heartening to know that so many people care about this mission just as much as we do.
